just what the doctor ordered my ex tool F2 ultra UV just arrived and I’ve been able to set it up with no issues whatsoever. I’m thrilled now to be able to do inner glass engraving without all the hassle of what I had to go through with my commarker Omni X the minute I found that actual tool was releasing their UV. I sold my Omni X and we’re off to the races with my new ultra UV laser
I've had the F1 Ultra now for several months and it has changed my business tremendously.
If you're looking for an upgrade for your laser engraving business - or even your home lobby then this is the machine you should seriously consider.
It's Here! My new Commarker Omni X 5W UV laser has arrived. 71 pounds of pure laser engraving power.
This machine was so well packaged that it took me over 30 minutes just to get it unpacked. The package was absolutely HUGE!
Because I am not the least bit mechanically inclined I must admit that I was more than a little bit intimidated by the process of assembling it. There isn't much to it. Hooking up cables, securing the laser head, tower and sliding cover is really all there is to it.. But still, I knew that there would be a certain amount of frustration involved. And then I find "Rise and Grind" on YouTube. He totally steps through the entire set up and assembly and the problem was solved.
Here's the link if you're interested in seeing the process and what this awesome UV LASER can actually do.

I will most certainly keep you up to speed as I go through the learning curve and exploring everything that I want to do with this...especially the 3-D Crystal Sub Surface engraving.
Let's have some fun!
About one week ago I finally decided that it was time to up my laser engraving game. And, after hours and hours of research I settled on a new UV laser by Commarker, their Omni X 5 watt laser.
Today it is arriving and I’ll be sharing everything about this new tool in my laser engraving shop, both the good and the bad…as I see it.
I’ve never had a UV laser but from what I’ve learned it is the king of all types of lasers because there are very few materials it can’t mark or engrave on. I’m excited and today will begin our new journey.
Stay with me and visit my blog often. It’s going to be a great ride for sure.
Before they put my face on Mt. Rushmore I told the authorities that they had to do an actual mockup of my image on a brass coin first. Here’s what they came up with.
Newest 100% brass challenge coin engraved today. Big Bass jumping out of water for tasty fly just overhead. YUMMY!
Yet another 100% brass challenge coin engraved. “The Blair Witch Project.” Entered into a challenge coin contest through lasereverything.net.
If you’re not familiar with that site I encourage you to visit them. You won’t find any better laser engraving source of knowledge on the internet.
Finished another depth map engraving today. “How to train your dragon” released in 2010. Fun movie to watch and fun to engrave to hold memories for thee future.
I was challenged to create a 1990’s based horror challenge coin. Of course I couldn’t resist so here’s what I came up with. Silence Of The Lambs created with my Xtool F1 Ultra Fiber Laser.
Coins Of Encouragement tins. Small, compact and filled with encouragement just when you need it the most. Includes laser engraved tin, inside engraved with the content also engraved on the 100% brass coin.

Pick-up price is just $8.00Oh what fun you’ll have as you see the kids circling around that person in the corner creating laser engraved special memories while they watch! TINY TIN FISHING KITS NOW AVAILABLE
Even something as simple as a small display from Dollar Tree can be made into a special gift or something you can sell online or at a local market. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. This took 3 minutes to engrave on my F1 Ultra from Xtool.
Though this only cost $1.25 it can be sold upwards of $8.00 or even more depending on your local market. Consider this the next time you want to create something easy to do, easy to market while still offering quality.
Here’s a great video about the newest UV laser engraving machine that just arrived on the laser engraving scene. I think you’ll enjoy it.
The ComMarker Omni 1 UV Laser Engraver is a versatile tool designed to handle a wide range of materials, including metals. Below is an overview of its key features and considerations when engraving metals:
Key Features:
• UV Laser Technology: Utilizes a 5W, 355nm UV laser, enabling precise and detailed engravings on various materials.
• Minimal Heat Generation: The UV laser’s low heat output reduces the risk of material warping or damage, making it suitable for thin metals and heat-sensitive materials.
• High Precision: Features an exceptionally small laser spot size, allowing for intricate and crisp engravings, beneficial for detailed designs on metals.
• Versatility: Capable of engraving a broad spectrum of materials, including plastics, glass, wood, fabrics, and various metals, enhancing its utility across different projects.
Considerations for Metal Engraving:
• Engraving Depth: While effective on metals like aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel, the Omni 1 produces shallower engravings compared to fiber lasers, which may be a limitation for applications requiring deeper marks.
• Speed Limitations: At higher engraving speeds, the machine may experience reduced power and frequency range, leading to less pronounced engravings.
• Material Compatibility: Although proficient with various metals, the Omni 1 may not achieve the same depth and speed as fiber lasers, particularly on metals with high thermal conductivity like copper.
The ComMarker Omni 1 UV Laser Engraver stands out for its precision and versatility, making it a valuable tool for projects involving metal engraving. However, for tasks requiring deeper engravings or faster processing times on metals, a fiber laser might be more suitable. Nonetheless, the Omni 1’s ability to handle a diverse range of materials with minimal heat impact makes it a compelling choice for many engraving applications.
The ComMarker Omni 1 UV Laser Engraver excels in engraving and marking materials that are traditionally challenging for other types of lasers. Its 355nm wavelength allows it to interact effectively with a range of materials, providing detailed and clean results. Here are the areas where the Omni 1 shines:
Best Materials for Engraving and Marking
• Glass and Crystal:
• Produces clean, precise engravings without cracking or chipping, making it ideal for customizing wine glasses, awards, and decorative items.
• Perfect for fine details like logos, text, and intricate designs.
• Plastics:
• Excels at marking on sensitive plastics, including PVC, polycarbonate, and acrylic, without causing melting or deformation.
• Creates high-contrast, durable marks for labels, barcodes, and product branding.
• Ceramics:
• Provides smooth, detailed engravings on ceramic tiles, mugs, and plates, making it ideal for artistic or functional items.
• Wood:
• Handles light-colored woods exceptionally well, producing clean engravings for logos, text, and intricate patterns.
• Leather and Fabric:
• Ideal for engraving detailed patterns and designs on leather and certain fabrics without burning or discoloration.
• Transparent Materials:
• UV lasers can engrave on clear acrylics and glass without the need for surface coatings, unlike CO₂ lasers.
Advantages of UV Laser for These Materials
• Low Heat Impact:
• Prevents warping, discoloration, or damage, especially on heat-sensitive materials like glass, fabric, and plastic.
• High Contrast Marks:
• Ensures clarity and legibility, particularly on plastics and ceramics.
• Eco-Friendly Marking:
• Does not require additives or coatings, reducing waste and material costs.
The ComMarker Omni 1 UV Laser Engraver is an outstanding choice for artisans, small businesses, and industries requiring precision on delicate or non-metallic materials. From personalized gifts like glassware and leather goods to industrial applications such as marking plastic components, the Omni 1 offers versatility and reliable performance.
If your focus is on engraving glass, crystal, plastic, or other intricate and heat-sensitive materials, the ComMarker Omni 1 UV Laser is a top-tier option. While it has limitations with deeper engravings on metals, its precision and adaptability to diverse materials make it a worthwhile addition to any engraving toolkit.
