Co2 LASER VERSUS DIODE
I have owned two Co2 lasers, both Glowforge Plus units. They worked well, easy to use and small enough to just put on a sturdy table and use. 40 watts of power was all I needed at the time. However, as time went by I became ever increasingly concerned and frustrated with the fact that I had to be always online, use their proprietary software which meant that unless I had a hot spot to use the machines really weren’t portable.
Enter the newest offering: a 50 watt, fully enclosed Co2 laser that ticks all of the boxes of convenience, portability and ease of use. Couple this with the fact that it is two thousand dollars less expensive than the Glowforge and we’ve got a real winner on our hands.
Here’s a link to a full review. I think you’ll see what I’m talking about.

THE MOST USER FRIENDLY LASER ON THE MARKET TODAY
I recently purchased this XTool, M1 specifically to use it at flea markets and craft shows. Because it is fully enclosed and vented I don’t have to worry about people watching being harmed by the laser. I’m using this almost on a daily basis and love it. Here’s a video that shows how easy it is to use

INTRODUCTION TO FIBER LASERS
The popularity of fiber lasers has grown exponentially over the last year or so. People realized that they wanted to engrave more than just wood and all types of metal engraving was the logical next step.
I jumped on board the fiber laser boat a few months ago and have not looked back. Yes, I still use my diode and CO2 lasers but when possible I head over to my 10 watt fiber laser to have some fun at “light speed”
Fiber lasers are about 48 times faster than any other lasers on the market. If you’re trying to decide on a laser to buy and have some fun with I would most certainly recommend Mr Carve M1, 10 watt fiber laser as a starting point. Here’s a link to a great video about Mr Carve’s M1 fiber laser.
